Creature: 10 Animals from Northern European Folklore

This zine was developed in collaboration with the Goethe Insitut Glasgow in 2023. I brought together 10 animals – fantastical and real – from across Northern Europe, all of which have a special archetypal place in folklore and symbolism. The purpose of the zine was also to consider the animals’ places in our environment, which is quickly being reformed and disrupted by the climate crisis.

Brief Encounters

This comic appeared in the Sprung student anthology, developed with peers and artist Jon McNaught at the Glasgow School of Art in May 2022.
Great Ideas for the End of the World

This publication was developed as a response to the COP26 conference in 2021. Associated with the fictional corporate entity MonCorp, the book showcases several devices which would supposedly solve climate change. The inventions are all too outlandish to be useful, and expressed my own feelings of helplessness against the climate crisis.

M8
The M8 is a motorway that runs through central Glasgow. Built in the 1970s, it has continued to draw criticism for the way it bisects Glasgow’s urban centre.
This book was completed as a project for my master’s course. My research involved taking walks down the section of motorway that runs from the city centre to the River Clyde. Eventually, I produced a concertina book that displays a narrative about a group of friends meeting up under the motorway, as well as a larger story about urban spaces.
